Sub. Topic: Grace Neutralizers to Avoid

Introduction:

Last week we started the exposition on the topic for the month- The Grace of God. We Considered  the meaning and purpose of grace in the light of Titus 2:11-14. As Believers, we are saved by grace( Rom. 3:24 and Eph. 2:5 & 8).

Our focus today is “Grace Neutralizers to avoid”. May God grant us illumination.

(1) God’s grace has elastic limits- Rom. 6:1-2

(2) Grace Neutralizers to avoid:

(a) The doctrine of eternal security- A Believer can fall from grace- 1 Cor. 10:12-14. As Believers, we saved by grace (Rom.3:24 and Eph. 2:5&8).

(b) Frustrating God’s grace- Gal. 2:21

(c) Self- Justification / righteousness- Titus 3:7, Isa. 66-4

(d) Failing to access grace by faith- Rom. 5:2

(e) Following the error of the Church at Pergamos – Rev. 2:12-15

(f) Praying Contrary to scripture- John 10:35

(g) Slothfulness- Rom. 12:11, Prov. 12:24

(h) Tongue Abuse – Prov. 18:21

Conclusion : God’s grace is the believer’s school master after salvation. We must be careful not to misunderstand it as liberty for sin or irresponsible living. We must grow in grace – 2 Pet. 3:18.
